SAM Soccer is proud to announce that Clyde Watson, assistant coach of the Washington Freedom, will serve as the 2008 SAM Summer Soccer Camp Director!
A Washington, D.C. local, Watson is a familiar face in Washington’s soccer scene having coached in the area for nearly 25 years. In 2008, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) selected Waton as the National Youth Coach of the Year. Watson is a former professional player and was a prominent member of the Guyana Men’s National Team for 10 years. He is a graduate of Clemson University, where he was captain of their nationally ranked soccer team and led Clemson to the NCAA finals.

Camp Features
- All campers will receive a free ticket to a Washington Freedom match at the Maryland SoccerPlex for the 2008 season
- Players grouped by age and ability
- Groups and teams are kept together
- Excellent player/coach ratio
- Washington Freedom players will be instructors at the camp
Who Can Attend
- Girls and boys ages 6-16 that have the desire to learn, work hard and have fun

- Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown
- The SoccerPlex has 19 high-quality soccer fields and 3 synthetic turf fields
- In case of inclement weather, the complex can make use of its indoor arena, the Discovery Sports Center
