Team Registration

• Step 1: Register online for the fall 2013 SELECT season, or fill out the registration form linked on the right of this page. Payment will be required before you are officially registered. The last day to register and pay your team is August 9, 2013.
• Step 2: Each player has to fill out a medical waiver form, which is linked to on the right of this page. Signed waiver forms must be returned to the league by August 23, 2013.
• Step 3: Since SAM SELECT is officially a travel league, players will need to be carded. Please visit MSYSA for details. An MSYSA certified roster must be turned into the league by August 23, 2013. 

Player Combine - Sunday, June 2nd 2013

The combine for players that are looking to join a SELECT team will take place at the Maryland SoccerPlex will be held in June for the fall season. Here is the information regarding the SAM SELECT combine:

 This tryout will be held outdoors, so we ask all players, parents and coaches to dress accordingly. A few items to note:

·      As we get closer to the date, times may change to reflect current registration status. For example, U10 may be combined with U11. Also, players of any age groups are allowed to try out for the age group immediately above them. So, if you are a U10 player, you are welcome to participate in both the U10 and U11 time slots. U9 players interested will be allowed to participate during the U10 session. Below are the scheduled times: 

·         If you are a COACH/TEAM MANAGER looking to attend the tryout, YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR TEAM WITH SAM SELECT. You can do so by clicking right here. Payment can be deferred, but you must be registered with the league in order to receive player information. Teams that are registered to SELECT for Spring 2013 are welcome to attend. 

·      If you are a PLAYER interested in SAM SELECT and looking to join a team, you must fill out the Combine Registration Form and send it to jselwood@mdsoccerplex.org, or fax it to (301) 540-4276.

·      Each interested SELECT team coach will be given a copy of each player’s registration information, and will be allowed to contact the player and his/her family following the tryout. In addition, families will be given team contact information and will be allowed to contact teams to gauge interest.

·      A parent or guardian must be present to sign-in their child.

• Mid-August – Practice Permit schedule release.
• August TBD – SAM Day at Dick’s! 10am – 2pm, check out this link for information.
• August/Sept TBD – Coaching Clinic with DC United @ 7pm (more information on this to come next week).
• Agust/Sept TBD – Positive Coaching Alliance meeting. Mandatory for SELECT Coaches, but open to rec coaches if spots remain available. We will let you know.
• August 23 – Recreation deadline for adding a team (players can still be added, but not entire teams).
• August/Sept TBD – SAM SELECT coaches meeting. More details to come.
• August/Sept TBD – SAM Recreation coaches meeting. More details to come. Held at Seneca Lodge @ 7pm.
• August 26 – 28 - Schedule to be released during this time period. 
• September 2 thru 6 – Recreation Uniform Pick-up inside Discovery Sports Center.
• September 2 thru 6 – Reacreation Proof-of-Age drop off at the Discovery Sports Center.
• September 7 and 8 - First weekend of games
• September TBD - Picture Day (7am-4pm)
• October 25^th – 26^th - No games
• November 2 and 3 - Last weekend of scheduled games
